X API for SignalGuard Event Security

Connect your X API Pro or Enterprise contract to SignalGuard for higher-volume chatter monitoring. Bypass basic-tier rate limits on your own bearer token.

Bring your X (Twitter) API Pro or Enterprise bearer token to SignalGuard to upgrade the X chatter signal with higher recent-search volume and faster cadence on venue and keyword queries.

What X API adds to SignalGuard

X chatter is one of the 50+ signals in SignalGuard's model, sitting in the Chatter pillar. The default path uses a low-tier X API contract that's shared across customers and constrained by basic-tier rate limits. Bringing your own Pro or Enterprise bearer token routes your venue queries through your contract — higher monthly tweet caps, broader recent-search windows, and lower likelihood of being throttled during peak event windows.

That matters when a venue keyword starts trending and you need the count and sample within seconds, not minutes. SignalGuard uses the chatter volume curve to detect spikes — a higher-cadence X feed sharpens the curve and reduces lag on the severity escalation.

X also feeds cross-platform aggregations: spike detection compares X volume against Reddit, news, and TikTok chatter, so a stronger X signal tightens the whole Chatter pillar's confidence interval.

How the integration works

Paste your X API Bearer Token into the X API tile at /integrations. SignalGuard validates it with a one-bucket recent-counts call (accepting both 200 and 429 as proof the key is valid). The token is stored AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest. All X calls run server-side.

Common use cases

  • Real-time chatter monitoring during stadium and festival event windows
  • VIP-protection keyword monitoring across an executive's travel schedule
  • Crisis comms detection — protests, transit incidents, weather panic
  • High-cadence dashboards refreshing on sub-minute intervals
  • Cross-platform chatter triangulation against Reddit, news, and TikTok
  • Tour security keeping a sustained X watch across multiple dates

What you need

An X Developer Platform account with a Pro ($5K/mo) or Enterprise (from $42K/mo) tier. Generate an OAuth 2.0 App-Only Bearer Token from your Project's Keys & Tokens page at developer.x.com.

FAQ

Do I need an X API subscription? No — SignalGuard ships with a working X chatter signal. Connect your own token only if you need higher volume or faster cadence than the default basic-tier path provides.

Where do I add my key? In your SignalGuard workspace at /integrations. Open the X API tile and paste your Bearer Token.

Is my key secure? Yes. Bearer tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest, only decrypted server-side at request time, and never written to logs.

Frequently asked

The questions ops leads ask before swapping a vendor key into SignalGuard.

Why connect my own X API contract?
The default SignalGuard X signal runs on a basic-tier rate limit suitable for occasional scans. High-volume customers — multi-venue scanning, continuous monitoring, agency use — exhaust the basic tier quickly. X API Pro ($5K/mo) or Enterprise (from $42K/mo) gives you full-firehose access at your own quota.
Where do I get a Bearer Token?
developer.x.com → your Project → Keys & Tokens → OAuth 2.0 App-Only Bearer Token. Copy and paste on /integrations under X API. SignalGuard validates with a v2/tweets/counts/recent call.
Does this give me access to private posts?
No. SignalGuard reads only what X's public API returns. Even with Enterprise access, private accounts, DMs, and protected posts are never accessed. Higher-tier just means more volume and history, not more privacy access.
How does this differ from Brandwatch or Sprinklr for X data?
Brandwatch and Sprinklr are listening platforms — they aggregate and store. The X API direct integration is raw-feed enrichment of the chatter signal in real time. Use both if you have both contracts.
