Read the operations map

From a brief, use View on map; from the events list, the scan's map link opens the same view. The map centers on the venue with the search-radius rings around it, and plots the geo-located signals — aircraft, TFRs, traffic, wildfires, earthquakes, nearby events and points of interest, and more — as markers.

The left sidebar lists the map layers, grouped into Weather, Ground, and Hazards. Each row is a toggle with an info (i) button explaining what it shows and, where relevant, a live count. Flip layers on and off to declutter — turn everything off but Airspace to read a drone/TFR picture, or leave only the ground layers up for egress planning.

Your toggle choices persist in the browser, so the map opens the way you last left it, even after you switch to a different event.

The radar control overlays an animated precipitation layer — NEXRAD composite in the US, a global source elsewhere — with a play/scrub timeline so you can watch a cell's recent track toward the venue. It composites on top of the signal markers, so you can see the storm and the crowd/airspace picture at once.

Two view controls change how the map reads:

• Basemap — Dark (default, best for markers) or Satellite (best for terrain and site geography).
• Color mode — color markers by Severity (critical → low) to triage, or by Pillar (Chatter / Environment / Movement / Context) to see which class of signal is driving the picture.

If you've georeferenced a CAD or floor-plan for the venue in Site Setup (/site-setup), that overlay renders on this map as its own toggle — your site geography aligned to the real-world coordinates. And on a big-screen desk, pop the map out into its own chromeless window so it can live on a second monitor while you work the brief on the first.
